Carlene Carter Kitchens, 83, of Southside Drive, Blakely, Ga., passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016 at the Four County Health and Rehab in Richland, Georgia. Her funeral will be held Saturday afternoon, Dec. 3, 2016 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home in Blakely, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home starting at 12:30 PM. Rev. Phil Thomas will be officiating.
Her body will be taken to Oxley-Heard Funeral Home in Fernandina Beach, Fl. for a visitation Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM and then a graveside service will be held at 2 PM in the Bosque-Bello Cemetery in Fernandina Beach, FL.
Mrs. Kitchens was born in Waycross, GA on June 9, 1933 to the late John Loyd Carter and Nellie Lee Bagley Carter. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Clarence Hiluard Kitchens, Sr. and a sister; Geraldine C. Byrum. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blakely and a homemaker.
Mrs. Kitchens survivors include a daughter; Theresa F. Morrell and Jim of Ft. Gaines, Ga, a son: Clarence Hiluard Kitchens, Jr. and April of Cumming, GA, 2 brothers; Carlos Carter and Ruby and J. T. Carter, all of Fernandina Beach, Fl. There are 5 Grandchildren; Trey Kitchens of Atlanta, Ga, Will Foster (Kirsten) and Casey Puckett (Will) all of Blakely, Ga., Whitney Spurlock of Dawson, Ga. and Caleb Morrell of Statesboro, Ga. She also has 4 Great Grandchildren: Rylan Foster, Wyatt Puckett, Molly Foster and Hendrix Spurlock.
