Brenda Shepard Lane, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9th, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on Monday, January 5th, 1948, in Albany, Georgia, Brenda was a cherished resident of Edison, Georgia, where she spent much of her life surrounded by family and friends. Brenda was a dedicated bank teller, known for her warm smile and kind heart, which she shared with her colleagues and customers alike. Her commitment to her community extended beyond her professional life, as she was an active member of the Edison Baptist Church, where she found joy and fellowship. Brenda is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Julian Otis Lane III, who stood by her side through life's many adventures. She leaves behind her loving children, Kim Torbert of Cuthbert, GA, and Michael Lane of Albany, GA, who will forever cherish her memory. Brenda was a proud grandmother to Livvy Torbert, who brought immense joy to her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Janet Felts (Terry) of Ocala, FL, and Katherine Dean (Andy) of Milford, GA, as well as several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her kindness and generosity. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Christine Shepard, who undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms. A graveside service to honor Brenda's life will be held at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, March 12th, 2025, at 11:00 am. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a remarkable woman who touched so many hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Edison Baptist Church, a place that held a special place in Brenda's heart. Arrangements have been entrusted to Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home, who are honored to serve the Lane family during this difficult time. Brenda Shepard Lane will be remembered for her unwavering love, her gentle spirit, and her dedication to her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
