Bobbie Dean Welch Evans, 73 of 8610 Spooner Quarter Road, Blakely, Ga, passed away Wednesday evening, December 5, 2018 in the Noland Hospital, Dothan, AL. Her funeral will be held Saturday morning, at 11 a.m. in the Cedar Springs Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. William Smith officiating.The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10 a.m. in the church sanctuary up until funeral time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Chandler, Jeff Chandler, Brandon Aycock, Seth Atkinson, Clint Welch and Chris Warfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Welch, Eddie Welch, Odell Welch,Freddie Welch, Ronnie Welch, Gary Welch, Martin Evans and Bill Evans.
Dean was born on February 21, 1945 in Blakely, GA to the late Lannie Oakley Welch and Eunice Earl Jordan Welch.Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Merle Hodges and a brother J. D. "Bud" Welch.She was customer service representative for many years at First State Bank of Colquitt, GA and a member of the Cedar Springs Freewill Baptist Church.
Her survivors include her husband, Roy Henry Evans, a daughter; Rhonda Chandler and Keith and a son Tim Evans all of Blakely, GA.She has three sisters; Betty Hodges and Debra Cloud both of Dothan, AL and Sandra Gipson of Phenix City, AL.There are six brothers; Homer Welch of Blakely, Eddie Welch of Dothan, AL, Odell Welch and Sue of Blakely, Freddie Welch of Thomasville, GA, Ronnie Welch and Jennifer of Jakin, GA and Gary Welch and Diane of Whigham, GA.She is also survived by a grandson, Sam Evans of Blakely and two granddaughters, Katie Aycock and Brandon, Kristin Atkinson and Seth, both of Donalsonville.There are also 3 great-grandchildren; Alyxis Aycock, Dani Aycock and Chanley Atkinson and a great-grandson, Zeke Atkinson soon to be born in Jan. 2019.
