Billy Jenkins English, 93, of 312 English Lane, Blakely, GA, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Serenity Hospice in Milledgeville, GA.A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. in the Pine Lawn Gardens Cemetery, Blakely, GA with Rev. Sterling Jones officiating.Military rites will be conducted after Rev. Jones.

Mr. English was born, June 7, 1925, in Blakely, GA, to the late John Jenkins English and Annie Merle Belisle English.He was a member of the Arlington Baptist Church, Arlington, GA and Owner/Operator of the former Arlington Ford Tractor Dealership in Arlington, GA.He was a Private First Class in the US Army during WWII and served with the 101st Airborne Division and fought at theBattle of the Bulge where he received the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.Other than his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Ruth Lunsford and four brothers; Wilmer "Coot" English, John Alton English, Earl English and Bobby C. English.

His survivors include his wife, Rena Belle White English of Blakely, GA; two daughters, Kathy K. Howard and Allen of Blakely and Sandra D. Taylor of Decatur, GA; one son, Billy Jenkins English, Jr. and Angeleah Stokes Barber of Albany, GA; a sister, Peggy Lacey and Tom of Albany, GA; four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family request that flowersare to be strictly omitted with contributions being made to, Georgia War Veterans Home, The Veterans Fund, at 2249 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, GA31061 in memory of Billy J. English.
