Billy Ray Day

Billy Ray Day, 80, of 497 Allen Chapel Road, Blakely GA 39823, passed away at Southeast Alabama Medical Center on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on August 11, 2023 at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Blakely Cemetery with Rev. Sterling Jones officiating. Serving Pallbearers will be William Davis, Danny White, Jamie Davis, Jason Lord, Steve Glass and Zach White. The family will visit with friends and loved ones from 10 to 11 on Friday before the service at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home. Mr. Day was born on October 23, 1942 to Arlin and Arrie Day. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Nell Day, one sister, Berdell Avery, and one brother, Arlin Day Jr. He was a successful brick mason by trade. His survivors include: one daughter, Carol (Tony) Holt, of Blakely, GA; one son, Ricky (Shawn) Day, of Jakin, GA; one brother, Jimmy (Elaine) Day, of Eufaula, AL; one sister, Rutha Glass, of Jakin, GA. There are 6 grandchildren: T.G. (Erica) Floyd of Blakely, GA, Keith Floyd of Blakely, GA, Whitney (Joey) Drake of Colquitt, GA, Anna (Ty) Cauley of Cottondale, FL, Maya Rogers of Jakin, GA, Emma Rogers of Jakin, GA. There are also 9 great grandchildren: Tylek Marshall, Trip and Charlie Blackburn, Zoee and Rubee Floyd, Trent and Bailey Drake, Letty and Scarlett Cauley. There is also 1 great great grandchild, Kole Marshall.
