Mr. Bill Lee Harrison, 85, of 823 Southside Drive, Blakely, Ga., passed away Friday afternoon, May 4, 2018, at his residence. His funeral will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dwight Bishop officiating. Burial will follow in the Blakely Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the U. S. Marines' funeral honors team. The family will receive friends in the church social hall starting at 10 AM for and hour before the funeral at 11 AM.
Mr. Harrison was born on April 29, 1933 in Lakeland, FL to the late Neal E. Harrison and Nina Loyed Harrison Welch. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Louise Sheppard Harrison. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Blakely, the Men's Bible Class and he was a U. S. Marine Veteran of the Korean conflict. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from UAB and he received a Master's Degree in International Banking at UAB. Mr. Harrison retired from Georgia Pacific Paper Mill as a Refinery Room Operator for Paper Machines 1 and 2.
His survivors included a daughter and her husband: Ginny Harrison Kyle and Mike of Coconut Creek, FL; cousins: George Loyed and his wife Chris of Blakely, GA and Panama City Beach, FL., Charles Loyed of Moore, SC, Bill Loyed and his wife Theresa of Columbus, MS. and several other special cousins.
