Betty M. Cleveland

“The Cake Lady“ Betty McGlamory Cleveland, 89, of Blakely, passed away Friday, April 21, 2023, in the comfort of her home amongst family. There will be a visitation at Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home Monday, April 24 2023 from 10am-11am followed by a Graveside service at 11am at the Blakely Cemetery with Matthew Schluckebier officiating. Mrs. Cleveland was born March 15, 1934 in Early County to the late John Gordon McGlamory and Virginia Beatrice Philmon-McGlamory. Betty spent her early years as a seamstress with Brew-Apparel in Blakely, Ga. Later to retire. For more than 30 years Betty spent her time in the kitchen baking cakes for the public, tending to her garden, planting flowers or fishing alongside her late husband Mallie H. Cleveland. Of all things she cherished most in her life, her family was her greatest treasure and she loved them immeasurably. Surviors include her daughter Sherry Hughes and husband Pee-Wee. Brother, Sidney McGlamory (Brenda), Four grandchildren, April Hughes-Bowen (Austin), Nicole Hughes-Foster (Will), Virginia Barron and Brian Wilkerson. Six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Zachary Mock, Brian Wilkerson, Will Foster, Tim Jones, Noah Elledge and Blake Enfinger.
