Bernice Lee

August 27, 1929 — July 17, 2021

Bernice Hortense Campbell Lee, 91, of Leary passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, July 17, 2021, at Calhoun Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19th, in Milford Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jean Watson officiating,The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Bernice was born on August 27, 1929 in Milford to the late Alex and Beatrice Goolsby Campbell.She attended Elmodel High School and retired from Coats and Clark Textiles in Albany.Bernice loved spending time outdoors, especially gardening, along with crocheting and cooking for her family.She attended Milford Baptist Church and was a partner in B's Peanut Brittle Company.Everyone has a "Bernice" story and her kindness and sweet sense of humor will never be forgotten.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Bryant Lee, and four siblings, John, James & Gerry Campbell, and Margie Johnson.

Survivors include her two sons and two daughters, Linda Toole of Atlanta, Rex Lee (Cindy) of Edison, Kay Tinney of Leary, and Chet Lee (Sara Jo) of Colquitt; ten grandchildren, Stephen Toole, Kara Toole, Tina Simons (Mike), Matt Lee (Erin), Andrea Stonerock (Brennan), Josh Kimbrel (Nicole), Jed Kimbrel, Leah Baird (Timothy), Corey Lee (Laken), and Meagan Prater (Christopher); ten great-grandchildren; and three siblings, Hubert Campbell (Sylvia), Robert Campbell (Sherrell), and Myra Pennington along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
