Benjamin Donald (Don) Vickers, 84, passed away early Monday morning June, 20, 2016 at Pioneer Community Hospital of Early . Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at 11 AM in the First United Methodist Church of Blakely. Burial will follow in the Pine Lawn Cemetery. Rev. Phillip Kirkland, Rev. Bill Hovey and Mr Gene Vickers, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends in the social hall of the church from 10 AM until funeral time.

Active pallbearers are Phil Evans, Pat Vickers, Chris Allums, Eddie Riley, William Cleveland and Jason Long.

Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Taunton, Terry Bevis, Martin Evans, Tom Riley, Doug Morris, Gary Joiner , John Moseley and Jack Sutton.

Mr.Vickers was born in Blackshear, Ga. September 3, 1931 to the late Aultman Vickers and Eva Minchew Vickers. He was a retired paper maker for Great Northern Paper Co. Member of Beulah Baptist Church. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson; Jamie Edward Vickers and a brother; Eugene Vickers.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elvyn Virginia Wilkes Vickers of Jakin, Ga.; 2 daughters: Debbie & husband Philip Evans of Blakely and Donna & husband Darius Moss of Donalsonville, Ga. 2 Sons;: Danny & wife Bridget Vickers of Eufaula, Al. and Mike and wife Candi Vickers of Blakely 11 Grandchildren: Gina (Chason) Newberry, Tiffany (Jason) Long, April (Dee) Grist, Amber (Chad) Strickland, Phil (Deana) Evans, Michelle Vickers, Pat (Cynthia) Vickers, Eve (Gerald) Smith, Jeremy (Tina) Vickers, Katie (Cody) Stevens and Jessie (Christina) Ebersole 33 Great-Grandchildren.
