Barney Edward Brownlee Sr, 84, of Blakely, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, April 11th, 2024 at his residence. Visitation will be held at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, April 14th, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at Westview Methodist Church on Monday, April 15th, 2024 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Blakely Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Travis Thompson, Brad Waller, John Hurley, James Nash, Jim Wasdin, and Darian Green. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Royal Order of Jesters, the Shriners, and the Masons. Mr. Brownlee was born October 28, 1939 in Early County to Mark Standifer Brownlee, Sr., and Stella White Brownlee. He married Patricia Johnson Brownlee December 25, 1960. Mr. Brownlee was self-employed as a farmer and owner/operator of Brownlee Texaco Service Station. Many days were spent at the station visiting with friends and neighbors. He was a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, the Shriners, and just received his 50-year pin as a Mason. He attended Westview Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brownlee was predeceased by a brother, Mark Standifer Brownlee, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Brownlee, sons Edward Brownlee, Jr. (Wendy) and Michael Brownlee, all of Blakely, grandchildren Scott Brownlee (Fiancé Dana) of Alpharetta, Ga., Trey Brownlee (Fiancé Haley) of Panama City Beach, Fl., and Kyndall Brownlee of Blakely. He is also survived by sisters Mary Getten of Santa Ana, Ca., Francis Harper of Warner Robins, Ga., and Annette Cato of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
