Ann Blackshear Jones

December 16, 1936 — April 11, 2018

Ann Blackshear Jones, 81, of 14969 Damascus-Hilton Road, Blakely, GA passed away in the E.R. of the Miller County Hospital Wednesday evening, April 11, 2018. Her funeral will be held Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 3 p.m. in the New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Jackie Williams officiating.The family will receive friends for a visitation starting at 2 p.m. in the Social Hall. Burial will follow in the George Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Stanton Jones, Charles Jones, Bragg Jones, Brian Henderson, Eric Henderson and Earl Middleton.Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Morice E. Jones.

Mrs. Jones was born on December 16, 1936 to the late George Shelton "Tuddy" Blackshear and Nettie "Net" Middleton Blackshear.She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, a homemaker and a graduate of Valdosta State College with a B. S. Degree in Education.

Her survivors include a daughter, Teresa J. Henderson and her husband Bruce R. of Macon, GA; two sons, Emery M. Jones of Albany, GA and Shelton G. Jones of Blakely, GA; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
