Ann Castellow Dismukes passed away the evening of February 5th, 2025 at the age of 86. Ann was born on December 2, 1938, near Montgomery, Al. She was, through most of her life, a resident of Edison Ga. Ann was a graduate of Shorter College with a degree in education. She taught in the Calhoun County School System for many years. Ann was a loving Aunt to seven nieces and nephews as well as multiple great nieces and nephews. Having no children of her own, she willingly claimed the students she taught as her own. She loved, cared for, and taught thousands of children. She demanded the best of each and every one of them. She mothered her beloved city of Edison by serving as its first female mayor. She always gave far more of herself than she would ever allow to be given to her. She was preceded in death by her father, Castellow Dismukes, her brother, Abner Benjamin Dismukes, her mother, Emily James Dismukes Campbell and her stepfather, Codie Roscoe Campbell. Ann will be remembered as that special and impactful teacher and loving Aunt and will be greatly missed by all those she influenced through her mission; to educate. The grief felt due to her passing will be felt by many, both family and friends. Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
