Andrew Joseph Mccarley

January 20, 1986 — December 7, 2022

Andrew Joseph McCarley (AJ) was born January 20, 1986 in Russellville. AL. His parents were Bobby A. McCarley Jr. (deceased) and Connie Barnes Thompson. AJ and his family moved to Blakely, GA in 1989. AJ attended Early County Schools and graduated in 2004. He made many friends throughout his school years that lasted throughout his life, and he greatly appreciated each of them. AJ attended Valdosta State University and graduated in 2010. While in college, he worked for Harvey’s Supermarkets and even represented them in the National Bagging competition in Las Vegas. He then became a poultry manager for Sanderson Farms. This allowed him to stay in the Valdosta area for many years and attend many music festivals with friends that he loved. AJ found he had IgA Nephropathy in 2015. This is a kidney disease that eventually led to him coming back to Blakely in 2018 and into dialysis in 2022. AJ battled the disease daily. On December 7, 2022, AJ lost his battle. He passed away suddenly at home due to complications. AJ is survived by his mother Connie Thompson (Will) of Cuba, GA, his brother Chris McCarley (Kelly) of Arlington, GA, nieces Courtney Brown (Darren) of Donalsonville, GA and Sutton McCarley of Albany, GA his nephews RJ McCarley of Florence, AL, Cody Rogers (Elizabeth) of Atlanta, GA, Jaydyn White of Amory, MS, and Noah McCarley (McKenzie King) of Cuthbert GA and one great niece Emmy. AJ was preceded in death by his father Bobby and his sister Mandy. Plans are to carry his ashes to be placed with them in a private ceremony in North Alabama. There will be a Celebration of Life remembrance ceremony at some time for anyone to take part. Family members ask that in lieu of flowers that you support the kidney foundation and thank you for all of your calls and prayers.
